This Victorian style walking skirt features a muted a-line silhouette in the front and a bustle formed by deep pleats which are sewn to the center of waistband in the back. These pleats open to a short, full, swishy mock-train effect in the back. The boned corset waistband of this skirt, decorated with piping, ties in the back for fit. The piping runs along the top and the bottom of the corset, down the boning lines, and down the front of the skirt. Functioning buttons run down the side front-opening of the skirt; there are four, one-quarter inch pleats sewn down each side as well. The skirt is fashioned from a polyester rayon spandex mix fabric, and I lined the corset waist with the same fabric. The inside boning provides support, while the slightly stretch weave of the fabric should allow for a bit of give. |
