This coat/jacket coat has a fitted bodice and round soft collar. The skirting comes down to the middle of the thigh in front and the full draped back of jacket comes to the knee. Two decorative buttons on the back. The skirting is asymmetric. Two pockets one on each side of the waist. Satin collar, underskirt and cuffs. Working DECORATIVE or FANCY buttons down the front and on the cuffs. I am SO HAPPY that this piece made it!       Date 5/9/2011 5:15:44 AM Name MARY HILDEBRANDT Jacqueline...In short I use my head and imagination, sketch pad/paper, pencil and Photoshop/ Wacom Tablet.....I have an extensive background in art and illustration though and it took over 20 years of work to this point in illustration.....       Date 5/9/2011 5:12:32 AM Name MARY HILDEBRANDT JACUELINE....I use a mechanical pencil and a piece of everyday ordinary copy paper and draw a LIGHT sketch. I then redraw it strengthening the lines. I use another piece of paper and trace my original and make sure that the line is CLEAN (no sketch marks) and ONE LINE. Then I scan into Photoshop, fill my pencil line with black and then use the air brush to paint the designs. For pattern material I either make a swatch from Chic Star's fabric or find a free non copyrighted swatch of fabric and fill in the selected parts of the drawing...like here, I selected the coat body,outer shell then filled the selected area with the jacquard fabric watch color. I love this one. And honestly I love the blue. In fact compared to the red I would honestly choose this one in a heartbeat... Red just is not my preferred color and I've seen it so much here. I still would have liked to have seen a different collar, I understand you like this one for it's style and I think it's nice but maybe you could try a design with a more sharp angular collar, it doesn't even have to be traditional or simple.
