Not to fight this but they did have peasant blouses in the 50s they were more of a frilly kind though.

I wouldn't recommend it either off shoulder, button or yes a sweetheart blouse works much better with this.

This skirt fit like a dream and I love the styling but the first time I wore it a button ripped off from one of the suspenders and it wrinkled up soooo quickly. Perhaps a different fabric choice and reinforcing the buttons?

Actually Aliana, and not to disagree with you Becky, but peasant blouse is more late 60's early 70's, hippie style. Pinup is 40's early 50's so you're looking for something fitted, polka dots, or a sweetheart neckline. Anything to show your curves.
