I just placed my bid on this. Don't want to not try with this one. Very trendy top, I agree with Alissa. To the designer from earlier, I concur and agree with the design. I have many many skirts that have a particular design or corset lacing on the front that is often hidden with my other tops, this is the reason I want this one, it goes low in the back but just enough to show my pants or skirts.
Hey. the bigger the shoulder pads, the skinnier the waistline. I am such a child of the 80's~I love shoulder pads...now if the big hair would just come back in style! I love this shirt,,,,great job on this trendy top.
Thanks for the input Kay, I can see your point about the jeans. When I was designing this, I had more of a steampunk idea of having a top that would show a skirt or pants in the front, such as if the skirt had a swag, buckles, ruffles..etc.. This top would not cover it up and you would not have to tuck anything in the skirt to show it. Many high waisted skirts have knob buttons, or like my gypsy skirt that has the swag in the front for example, this would allow those accents to be seen. Hope this helps with understanding the concept behind this design. As for as the sleeves, well they are puff at the top and can be shaped upwards or downwards. I'm sure when they were taking this picture, they just puffed them upwards to show off the sleeves.
This is SO beautiful!!!! But why in black only? :( My collection of steampunk clothes have mostly brown/sepia/beige/burgundy/autumn colours... I wish Chic Star would make some items in these colours too...
