This pretty little vest is made with velvet, it is double skirted and has two hidden pockets one on each side, working fancy black buttons for easy closure, fully lined.

The more I look at this one, the more I want it. It's such a versatile piece, especially for me. I can easily wear it to class, and wear it in our workshops and not worry about getting it caught in machinery... I agree with you girls, the clothing I wear from this site looks nothing like the model. While she does a great job showing a piece she does not encompass the full range of body types that we have seen here. Impossible for any model. I bid on the last skirt, to a point, even though it looked twisted and strangely altered the hips and stomach area. I still like the piece. NOW THIS is another gorgeous piece! I also really like the flocking velvet that Chic Star uses. Very high quality and this vest is sure to look amazing in person

Mary, that's completely true. Seeing the clothing on real people looks completely different than on the model online. Most of the time, the way it's photographed just doesn't do it justice. They do a good job at showing a full view of the clothing, but not how it "looks in real life". I'm sure you will love the vest!

It is possible but I think this is a minor thing ! I love this ant we can iron the pockets to make them flat! And I will still buy this if it is produce ... I love their velvet !

Oh...I see, the pockets give the illusion little lift ob the hip area that's why it looks more slender from side and back shots. Pockets were a must for this design though.

Yes, the collar was an over sized rounded portrait collar but I like the way it looks here. I am not worried about the way this was photographed either. The model looks like she's got a full/voluminous skirt whic looks different in the profile shot and the back shot... I love it. I do not order by the way she looks in product. I have ordered many pieces that look way different on me. Plus with other people submitting pics it gives me a better idea of how an item fits. It NEVER looks like the model shown here. I think the fitted waist will balance out the ruffled full skirt and look elegant an romantic. I LOVE the velvet...adds a touch of class, romance and again elegance. Thanks again Chic Star...I am SO excited about this one!

Not to say it isn't a great piece though. It just looks like a casual piece over an elegant one. I still hope it's produced ^_~

It's beautifully tailored as usual. Chicstar's pattern drafter's have been spot on recently. If anything the collar needs to be a little bit wider, and that's being picky. I do agree it looks a bit heavy/bulky rather than full and elegant like the drawn design. Like Mary S said, that's probably the fault of the velvet that Chicstar uses, which is a wonderful high quality fabric, but just not right for this piece... maybe instead one layer could be velvet, or it could have a velvet trim?

Want to like this, but... looks really heavy around the hips. CS model looks 2 sizes larger than usual. Perhaps the effect of double skirting using a bulky fabric? Still, very similar to the original drawing

Of course Sean...all of my pieces are up for alterations. I fully support team work and love to see how others envision my pieces/work. In one of the art classes that I teach I have a child start a picture with a line or a couple of lines then we pass the art around the circle with each kid/young person adding to the image. In the end it is a fabulous and unique piece of art that everyone contributed to plus it constantly keeps changing as everyone has an image in their mind that grows with each individual's line. Go for it Sean!
