Hi dolly thanks for trying to explain. I feel a bit confused, but since I design for fun, not money, I'll just keep doing so. It keeps me occupied during chemotherapy. Of course, A winning design would just be a great ego boost, but its reall all for the love of fashion

Hi Donna, the bidding process shown on the front page and 'Bid For Designs' is a new system that we/the members haven't seen from start to finish yet. We've had bits and pieces of information from CS and members who have bid but it's still too early to claim any real knowledge other than estimations and I wouldn't want to possibly mislead you by unintentionally leaving anything out or if the way CS uses it changes as they go along. All I can say with any clarity is that the bidding currently applies to alterations of prototypes already made and that state 'Alter' underneath them on the 'Protos' page. It seems to be a form of pre-bidding to help CS decide which alterations they want to Accept which is why they are being voted on at the same time. Then CS decide which ones get Accepted and the winning bidders of those Accepted alters will be informed that their item will be made. (I don't know if members who had the highest bid on unAccepted/unsuccessful alterations are informed that their items will not be made and that their funds/money on account is free to use on other items or download to their Paypal again if they have the minimum amount needed.) From there onwards the process gets abit hazy with information from CS and guesswork mixed in. It's probably best to ask CS directly from their 'Contact Us' page. I apologize that I can't be of any more help than that.

Dolly, you are so kind, and lovely. Perhaps you could explain to me how some designs go up for bid so quickly, even when they are still being voted on. I'm not sure I understand the whole process.

This is stunning, if I can suggest, I think that if the sleeve was snug fitting all the way down, it would add to the shape nicely as it would add to the sleekness in the beauty f the dress.
