This is a lined Victorian trench coat. It has deep pleats at the princess seams under the pockets. The flap buttoned pockets are both functional and deep with two pockets compartments on each side of the coat. One compartment for your hands with a side opening and the other for carrying stuff which opens through the functioning button flap. There are pleats at the waist in the back which form a small bustle.
This coat would be especially nice made from Velvet (not the flocking kind) It would also work well made from TR. If possible the lining should be made from the shiny side of the good satin that CS has (this would be nicer than the regular lining fabric as the lining shows from the front of the coat at the high low hem-- Also the real shinny satin lining will just make the coat really really nice to wear). |
