Personally I think the blade gives character, as the pose has some intensity but also grace and still shows the clothes (the most important part). I think it also gives it more of a fantasy element as well. I guess it also goes without saying one of my other favorite photos which happens to be uploaded here had a martial arts theme which even inspired me to get the pants and try something similar (though I have yet to complete it yet): http://www.chicstar.com/community/photoscore.aspx?id=196

Incredibly stylish and great pose, it almost seems like a retro fashion styled warrior. Your mom models the clothes quite well as anyone can put something on but you both give it great character. Love all your photos this week.
