I very much like the opposing swags on the shoulder and hip - a clever and very smart looking way to accentuate curves. I'm not sure about the fabric choice but it reminds me of some of the elegant power wear for mature women in the 70's and early 80's aimed at formal yet dressy wear for associate meetings and formal social functions rather than business. Hence I can see it in the thicker more durable polyester of the time which was a little rough/coarse and a bit stretchy - quite different from modern polyesters, more durable and any 'pulls' that were caused by catching the fabric on something could actually be cut off without making holes in the fabric. I suppose it would be similar to microfibre in texture but 'macrofibre' in look. I can't think of anything similar currently used on the CS website but perhaps the new ponte would suffice?

35 layers? Wow that is awesome. I'd hate to be clicking back and forth through those whilst looking for an element as I have a bad habit of not renaming my layers and then squinting at them to see what was on each one. Hey Nalin, I re-read my comment and realize that I wasn't clear enough. When I said 'done 'right'" I meant by CS - if made well/correctly/'right' then I'm sure it would look fine regardless of me not being able to visualize the size/flare of the pleats i.e. how far off the hips they would stand. Sorry about that. I definitely think you should edit it and resubmit it for another chance if you have the time. Howabout making it into a jacket and skirt? I agree with MB - you could alter the neckline and show the back too. Either way, best of luck!

Francis worked the situation out with the designer. She admitted she traced the pleats but she came up with the design herself - which is believable because it's not a unique design, it's very nice but doesn't have distinguishing features for jackets of its type. She also posted on the original design page that she asked CS to take the design down and that the designer forgave her for the tracing - it seems they had a private conversation and dealt with the issue. CS have made the proto though and that's what is being commented on. As one of the members whose been here the longest you've probably seen that CS generally allow copied and/or pasted on elements for original designs, alters and prints as long as there is a 'significant' difference in the overall result. Some designs get removed though - perhaps write to CS and ask them why this one is still up if you have a grievance with it.
