In my case, I feel very encouraged when I see alterations of my work, because it means that people do appreciate what I'm doing (whether it is the whole design or some of its parts). At the beginning I was a bit ashamed too to alter someone else's job, but it's because I love what the other designers do and that I want to give it another chance to be made. I think they're happy too to see that people appreciate their designs. Moreover, if your alteration is a winner, the original designer wins money too, so that's another good point. ;-) However, if a designer really doesn't want its work to be altered, he/she has an option to avoid it. So finally there is no problem! You just have to submit it as an alteration and not as an original. That's all!
Hello ladies, I have made a few alterations, some which have been nice and others awful, sorry. I always feel a bit guilty altering someones design, can anyone explain how the designer feels about this and if it is 'up' for alteration, does that mean the original has been denied ? Any help appreciated.
Dolly B, yes I give permission for it to be altered...but the thing still is under 'ended' status so that option isnt available yet. GARY OR LINA, I know this isnt going to win, so please put it as 'alter' status so people can try and adjust it?
If you win $500, you can either use it to buy clothes on Chic Star, or withdraw it on your PayPal account and use it for something else, or obviously buy what you want on Chic Star and withdraw the remaining fonds on PayPal (as long as the remaining fonds are over $100).
Well this obviously isn't going to win, so since quite a few people found something 'off' about it, maybe I have a chance to win store cred if someone edits it and the proto for the edit wins? Is that right?
this is a stunning design but I feel it is let down simply by the two types of sleeves/straps.
I was thinking either change the back straps to a halter neck style or just remove the red sleeves all together and keep the black straps.
I like the way this turned out, looks nice :) I would have made the black straps connect to the black waist section in the back though...still I like the fabric used, i figured it was just going to be cotton...
