I like it the way it is. I think that I would make this dress with more colors and vintage style patterns. This dress is perfect the way it is. It would be killer in white with gloves and the right kitten heels or pumps.

Hi Erin, I just wanted to say welcome to Chic Star! Your designs are incredible and I love the general vintage feel that they give off. I am very happy that you have joined the site. I really appreciate some of the nice comments you have left on my designs. Thank you very much! I do not comment much on the ChicStar forum (I have been attacked repeatedly?I do comment on Pinterest and would be happy to respond to email from anyone middaughs@gmail.com ) But I did want to say welcome and keep up the great work! Your dress is an inspiration. The rules are not very clear but the way it works is you can use photos on alters but not on submitted designs. Chicstar will reject submitted designs if they think that a photo was used. I look forward to seeing more of your designs. I really like the set of three bows -- well done.

Thanks, Dolly. I really love Asian cultures. My room is decorated with different Asian influences. I'm not surprised if my love for it has transferred into my work. ^_^

Rachael, I'm a graphic designer, been using Photoshop and Illustrator for over 20 years. My formal education is in graphic arts/printing/design and as a career, I've been a designer/art director for the past 11 years with a major national retail company specializing in general group merchandise. :) I use a lot of paintbrush, smudge, blur, eraser, dodge, burn and saturation tools as well as overlay and multiply effects with varying levels of opacity. This file is probably around 35 layers deep. If it was high-res and large, it wouldn't look as nice as it does at low resolution and small, like this. I edited the belt off a CS dress (since it's not 3rd party, I figured that was ok and they'd be able to produce it). Hope that answers your question(s) :)
